Shiny Pink Bow ties for All!

I was recently asked by my best friend Anna to make the finishing touches for her and her coworker's outfits for a gala event that they were putting on. I figured that Shiny Pink Bow ties and Pocket Squares were the order of the day for the TEACH Sweet 16 extravaganza!

So I got on the interweb and found a great free and printable pattern for a standard Bow tie! It actually ended up being two patterns, I found this out after I had made both patterns but it was a simple switcheroo and they worked out! Having never seen a bowtie before I didn't know that you needed two identical halves of the bowtie to tie togeather :) but it all worked out in the end as i hadn't joined them before i got the the TEACH office that afternoon and had it pointed out to me by Anna's coworker! No harm though, they turned out great.

After about 2 minutes of confused scrambling knot tieing and watching some hillarious youtube videos, we finally figured out how to tie the bow ties and the show went on!

Anna shows off her very own bow tie!

Toasting a job well done!

Four seasons

I'm working on a Cross stitch for my mom, it's a vertical four panel design where each of the panels are a group of flowers from one season. I started with Summer, and now I'm working on spring. Here's the work in progress:

Dr Who Scarf almost done!!

I'm currently knitting a Dr Who Scarf! Having abandoned and frogged the Green one from a few posts back, I still felt that I needed a great me-made scarf for those cold winter days. Seeing as it's already spring, I don't think I've got too many days to wear it left this season, but if the summer is mercifully short this year, like the last, I'll be wearing it soon enough!

I only have 3 Stripe left!!!

The pattern, as well as others from different seasons, are available here:

Long Overdue Christmas Presents

So, as promised, here are the rest of the Christmas gifts that I made. Most of these photos were taken at 3am Christmas day. I was knitting and finishing furiously to wrap up (no pun intended) the rest of my gifts.

First, this is the vest that I knit for my mom. I got the pattern and the yarn on knitpicks.com and it turned out really great (it may be hard to tell from this photo but it is a deep Merlot colour). It was started last January and finished Christam Eve. My mom loved it, though in retrospect I would have made it longer.

Second, the variety of great Knitted Clogs that everyone got:

Daniel

Thomas

Mama

Jenny

I eventually ended up adding in some elastic to the tops of all of these to make them stay on the foot while people ran around the house. They all went down a hit.
